Can blunt head trauma to the back of the head cause blindness?

Blunt trauma to the back of the head can leads to blindness. Because there are some nerve pathways which is connecting from visual cortex to the midbrain nucleus , which leads to to the optic nerve of the eye. This is called visual blindness.
