Why didn't God create just one religion to...?

avoid the bickering between Jews, Christians, Muslims, Jehovah Witnesses, etc.? Every religion want the other religions to convert to their religion (wait, that kind of made sense). What happens when everyone converts to a single religion? What religion should everybody convert to?
