It could mean that you probably need to maybe get a little closer with your dad. Maybe the dream wanted to bring out some hidden feeling for your dad that you have been holding. The second could have just shown you that you can lose both of them. You were probably didn't wake up crying because maybe at this point your mind knew it was a bad dream.
