If osmosis did not exist, how would a person be affected?

I am an expert in physical osmosis/diffusion, but surprisingly does not know everything abouth the subject. I would like to know how we can be affected if this important component in life did not exist. For example (one of many things) would we have waste imbalance? And can we survive without it?
